Brian Goodwin Has Strong KC Debut
6 years agoNewly acquired Kansas City Royals outfielder Brian Goodwin got his first taste of action in the blue and white on Monday, and he came through with a pair of singles in his two at-bats. The team traded for the 27-year-old on Sunday in hopes that he may be their shot-in-the-dark answer at center field for the future. With Paulo Orlando clearly past his "prime" and Rosell Herrera looking promising but not world-beating, the team took a waiver on Goodwin, a former first-round pick. Goodwin can provide a power/speed combo, and he should see a plethora of starts for the Royals as the team uses it as a bit of an audition for next season. He's worth a flyer in deep leagues, and if he hits, he could be fantasy relevant everywhere in no time.
