Brian Anderson And The Marlins Are Talking Extension
4 years agoMiami Marlins third baseman Brian Anderson has reportedly had initial discussions with the team about signing a contract extension. It sounds like the team threw out the idea of five years, $30 million, but that's no more than a starting point and certainly won't get it done. Anderson is under team control through 2023, so the Marlins would be trying to buy out his arbitration years and add some free agent years as well. Anderson slashed .261/.342/.468 with 20 home runs and played excellent defense last year. He's one of the pieces the Marlins want to focus their rebuild around, and the two sides will likely continue talks into the winter.
