7 months agoThe Milwaukee Brewers claimed right-hander Vladimir Gutierrez off waivers from the Miami Marlins on Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville. Gutierrez allowed three earned runs on three hits (one home run) while walking two and striking out four in a four-inning relief appearance with Miami this year before being designated for assignment. The 28-year-old former undrafted free agent has experience as both a starter and reliever in his major-league career. Before appearing out of Miami's bullpen this year, Gutierrez hadn't appeared in the majors since 2022 with the Cincinnati Reds. In his 154 2/3 big-league innings over 33 outings (30 starts), Gutierrez has a 5.47 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with 72 walks and 121 K's.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
