Brett Kennedy Coming Up To Join Rotation
6 years agoThe San Diego Padres have purchased the contract of starting pitcher Brett Kennedy from the minors. He will take the spot of Tyson Ross, who was claimed off waivers by the Cardinals, and make his major league debut in a start against the Brewers on Wednesday. The right-hander deserved the promotion, going 10-0 with a 2.72 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 80 strikeouts in 89 1/3 innings over 16 starts at Triple-A El Paso. Kennedy could be intriguing in NL-only formats if he sticks in the rotation, but he should be avoided against a tough Milwaukee lineup.
