Brett Gardner Drives In Three As Yankees Win Again
6 years agoAfter dropping the series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays Friday night, the New York Yankees entered Saturday afternoon needing a win. Leadoff man Brett Gardner did his best to single-handedly push his club to victory, recording two hits and driving in three runs as the Yankees emerged with an 8-5 victory. The 34-year-old is experiencing a down season, especially as of late, only posting a .220 average across his last 15 games. As the leadoff hitter in this offense, however, Gardner will always have significant run-scoring opportunities and will look to build upon this performance to get on track.
