Brett Anderson Could Make Next Start
6 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Brett Anderson, who sprained his left ankle in the third inning of his last start on Sunday, could stick in the rotation and make his next start. "I’m encouraged that he potentially makes his next start," manager Bob Melvin said. Anderson allowed two earned runs with a walk and strikeout in 2 2/3 innings against the Blue Jays to take the loss, but he's been pretty good in his five starts this year, posting a 3.04 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 16 K's in 26 2/3 innings while going 3-1. The left-hander is a fine matchup play in deep mixed leagues, especially at his pitcher-friendly home ballpark.
