Brenton Strange Blanked In Victory Over Titans
3 months agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange, who has been plagued by inconsistency as a starter since Evan Engram suffered a season-ending injury, finished with zero fantasy points in a 20-13 win over the Tennessee Titans. Strange coming into the game was likely considered by some fantasy managers as a potential starting tight end as a touchdown-dependent, boom-or-bust option. Given the volatility of the position, that was a fair thought process. However, given the Jaguars lackluster offense, a dud was always possible. Besides Week 15, where he put up 11 catches for 73 yards, Strange has combined for seven catches since Week 10. He has shown flashes since taking over as the starter, but not enough to warrant being a reliable fantasy option going forward. Strange and the Jaguars face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 18 to round out the season.

Brenton Strange A Touchdown-Dependent Option Against Colts
3 months agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange has been an inconsistent fantasy asset this season, and should continue that way in Week 18. He could be in line for more involvement in the passing game this week given the game doesn't matter and the Colts pass defense was gashed last week by Drew Lock and the Giants offense. That likely means more touchdowns and more success through the air than normal for Mac Jones, who may be fighting for a starting job with another team next season. With that being said, Strange has had some stinkers as of late, and hasn't done much besides an 11 catch, 73 yard performance against the New York Jets. Unless he can find the endzone, Strange is an extreme boom-or-bust tight end in Week 18.

Brenton Strange Cleared For Week 17, A Risky Start In Rematch With Titans
3 months agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation against the Tennessee Titans for Week 17. Strange was limited earlier in the week with a shoulder injury, but is all systems go after logging a full practice on Friday. He is tough to trust in fantasy championship lineups in Week 17. The sophomore tight end put up just two catches for 22 yards and fumbled last week against the Las Vegas Raiders after an 11-catch, 73-yard performance against the New York Jets in Week 15. That all came after a one-catch, 21-yard performance in Week 14, the last time he faced the Titans. For fantasy managers looking for a tight end to stream this week, Strange is just too unpredictable and a bit banged up to boot to put in fantasy lineups in Week 17.

Brenton Strange Remains Limited On Thursday
3 months agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange (shoulder) remained a limited participant during Thursday's practice session. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status during Friday's session as Strange may carry an injury designation into the weekend if he cannot update to full participation. After enjoying an impressive 11-catch 73-yard performance in Week 15 against the New York Jets, Strange had a disappointing showing last Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders as he brought in just two of his four targets for 22 yards. If Strange can suit up on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, fantasy managers should view him as a high-end TE2 as the Titans have defended opposing tight ends quite well, allowing the sixth-fewest PPR points to the position this season.

Brenton Strange Comes Back To Earth With Minimal Production
3 months agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange hauled in 2-of-4 targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 19-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. He also coughed up a costly fumble just before halftime. The second-year pro was quiet in Week 16's loss, totaling just four targets one week after he commanded a ludicrous 12. Strange led the team in receptions a week ago but was a distant third option to wide receivers Brian Thomas Jr. (9/132/1) and Parker Washington (6/54) on Sunday. It's a letdown for fantasy managers relying on him in the fantasy semi-finals. He was again deployed primarily in the short area of the field but could not replicate his performance from the week prior. The 23-year-old will get a stiffer test next Sunday against his division-rival Tennessee Titans. Tennessee has allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends in 2024 (10.1).
