Brenton Doyle Goes Deep Twice In Losing Effort
5 months agoColorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle did his best to carry the offense on Tuesday on the road against the Cincinnati Reds, but it wasn't enough in a 12-6 loss. Doyle finished the game 3-for-4 with two solo home runs and a walk. His other hit was a double. The 26-year-old didn't look too great last month, but he has seriously turned things around so far in July, going 15-for-27 with six home runs, five doubles, 11 RBI, six walks, a stolen base and seven runs scored in eight games to raise his season slash line to .279/.346/.467 with an .812 OPS in his second year in the big leagues. He's added a career-high 13 home runs, 16 doubles and 20 stolen bases in 87 games, making him a must-roster player in all fantasy leagues despite playing for the last-place Rockies. If Doyle can stay healthy in the second half of the season, he has a real shot at 30 homers and 30 steals.
