Brent Rooker Dealing With Illness
1 year agoOakland Athletics outfielder/designated hitter Brent Rooker (illness) was a late scratch from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins. According to Sonja Chen of MLB.com, the slugger is dealing with an undisclosed illness, but there's no word on the severity. Rooker has been the best bat in the club's lineup this season, slashing .244/.340/.477 with 16 homers over 80 games. Tony Kemp will take his place, playing left field and batting leadoff against Twins right-hander Joe Ryan. Despite his spot in the lineup, fantasy managers can mostly stay away from the 31-year-old, who is batting just .203 with three bombs and nine stolen bases across 74 contests.
