Brendan McKay, Vidal Brujan Make Rays Player Pool
5 years agoAlong with Tampa Bay Rays top prospect Wander Franco, who is the No. 1 prospect in all of baseball, starting pitcher/designated hitter Brendan McKay and infielder Vidal Brujan also made the team's player pool for the upcoming 60-game season. McKay and Brujan are the team's No. 2 and 3 prospects, respectively, per MLB Pipeline. McKay, a 24-year-old left-handed, is a two-way player that has more upside for his arm than his bat. He has No. 3 potential in fantasy, but it's unclear exactly how Tampa will use their rotation in a shortened season. The southpaw had a 5.14 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 56 K's in 13 outings (11 starts) for Tampa in 2019. Brujan profiles better at the keystone and could develop into a dynamic, top-of-the-order presence in years to come.
