Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher will have a phone hearing for elbowing New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech late in his team's 4-3 win Thursday night. A phone hearing means any suspension cannot exceed five games while an in-person hearing allows the league to suspend him more than five contests. Although he plays a hard game, it was a rather uncharacteristic move from the veteran who has a clean suspension history. It's been a difficult season offensively for the 31-year-old who has scored just eight goals with eight assists on 103 shots across 48 games. He has been limited to 59 games or less in each of his four previous seasons but has, so far, not missed a game this season, something that will change with a suspension imminent.--Brenton Kemp
