Tampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point bagged his fifth career hat trick in very strange circumstances in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Washington. After he had bagged two goals in the first period, Point was credited with a third goal in the final frame when Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren put the puck into his own net on a failed clearance attempt. It's the first time on record (since 2009-10) that a hat trick has been completed via an own goal in the NHL. The goal gave Tampa Bay a 4-3 lead, but luckily for Lindgren, the Capitals were able to turn things around inside the final 10 minutes of play. Point has been hot in front of the net all year, potting 15 goals in 17 games, which puts him tied for third in the league. He has also picked up five assists.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
