Braxton Garrett Throws Over The Weekend
9 months agoMiami Marlins left-hander Braxton Garrett (shoulder), who has been dealing with general shoulder soreness early in camp, threw out to 105 feet over the weekend and "felt good" as his volume continues to ramp up. He also threw on Thursday and Friday under the training staff's supervision. "The offseason was a little tough for me," Garrett said. "Just seemed like the shoulder didn't bounce back as well as usual, but like I said, we're on the come-up now, just it's taking a little bit longer." It's a minor concern for now, but it's something we'll keep a close eye on as Opening Day gets closer. The 26-year-old southpaw is certainly an intriguing late-round flier in mixed fantasy leagues after he went 9-7 with a 3.66 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 29 walks and a career-high 156 strikeouts over 159 2/3 innings (30 starts) in his first full big-league season as a starter for Miami in 2023.
