Braxton Garrett Starting Marlins' First Grapefruit League Game
2 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Braxton Garrett will reportedly start the team's first game in Grapefruit League play, per a tweet from The Miami Herald's Jordan McPherson on Tuesday. Garrett will take on the New York Mets in that matchup. The 25-year-old pitched to a 3.58 ERA and a 3.56 FIP in 88 innings spanning 17 starts last season. He also registered 90 strikeouts compared to 24 walks while logging three pitcher wins in the process. After Sandy Alcantara, Miami's current rotation options include Garrett, Johnny Cueto, Jesus Luzardo, Edward Cabrera, and Trevor Rogers.
