Braxton Garrett Can't Get Through The Fifth Inning

Miami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Braxton Garrett was called up to start Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies and tossed 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks while striking out two. Garrett threw 82 pitches, 53 for strikes. He was called up when the Marlins placed Pablo Lopez (shoulder) on the injured list, and Garrett will presumably take the starts that would have gone to a healthy Lopez. Garrett was the seventh overall pick in the 2016 draft, but he's been mediocre at best in the minors and has yet to show anything at the big league level. While there may be some untapped upside somewhere in that left arm, Garrett is not a recommended starter in most formats at this point.
