6 years agoThe Atlanta Braves and outfielder Ronald Acuna are finalizing an eight-year, $100 million contract extension on Tuesday, according to league sources. The deal also includes two options for $17 million apiece with a $10 million buyout on each option. The trend of young superstars signing extensions with their clubs continues. Acuna, just 21 years old, will likely be an MVP candidate for years to come after he hit .293/.366/.552 with 26 home runs, 64 RBI and 16 stolen bases in 111 games in his rookie season. If he stays healthy, he'll be a lock for 30-plus home runs and probably around 100 RBI or more with 20-plus steals. He's one of the best young players in the game.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
