1 year agoThe Atlanta Braves placed right-hander Jesse Chavez (shin) on the 15-day injured list on Thursday with a left-shin contusion and recalled right-hander Ben Heller from the minors in a corresponding move. X-rays came back negative on Chavez's shin after he was hit by a comebacker on Wednesday in the second game of a doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers, but it couldn't prevent him from going on the shelf for a couple weeks. While the 39-year-old isn't much of a fantasy asset and certainly isn't overpower by today's pitching standards, he's been a key cog in Atlanta's bullpen this year, pitching to a tidy 1.55 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, one save and 36 strikeouts in 29 relief innings pitched.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
