Braves Asking About Nolan Arenado
5 years agoThe Atlanta Braves have inquired about Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado, although discussions haven't been active recently, according to sources. The Braves are reportedly wary of the salary commitment for one of the best all-around players in baseball, but Atlanta also has the sort of prospect group that the Rockies would want in any deal. If the Braves can't re-sign Josh Donaldson, they'll have an obvious opening at the hot corner for 2020 and beyond. Arenado hit .315/.379/.583 with 41 home runs, 102 runs, 118 RBI and three steals last season. He's been an All-Star the last five seasons and has won a Gold Glove all seven years of his career. A move out of Colorado would hurt his overall upside, but Arenado would still be one of the top third baseman in the league.
