Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff did not leave Thursday's start early against the Chicago Cubs due to injury. He was hit by a comebacker in the third inning and was removed from the game after 74 pitches. "That comebacker to end the third inning got all glove," said Woodruff. "Didn't get him in the leg at all." The Brewers' ace allowed two hits and three walks while striking out three across three scoreless innings before exiting. Woodruff owns a 2.18 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 163 strikeouts across 140 1/3 innings in 2021. The 28-year-old is expected to make his next scheduled start Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
