Brandon Woodruff Being Stretched Out As Starter
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff will be stretched out as a starter this year, according to manager Craig Counsell. Woodruff, 26, was 3-0 with a 3.61 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 47 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings (19 outings, four starts) in 2018 and played a key role in their bullpen down the stretch. He might not have as much strikeout upside in a starting role, but there is intrigue in his right arm if he runs with a rotation spot in 2019. Consider him a sleeper in NL-only leagues and a possible early season waiver wire pickup in mixed leagues.
