Brandon Sproat Stellar In First Professional Season
4 months agoNew York Mets starting pitching prospect Brandon Sproat has been incredible through the first half of his first professional season. The Florida product opened the season at High-A, where he logged 25 ⅓ innings to the tune of a 1.07 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and a 16:33 BB:K ratio. Then, since moving up to Double-A on May 13, the right-hander has posted a dominant 2.05 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and a 12:52 BB:K ratio. Sproat tallied a career-high 10 punchouts on June 2 and has posted five quality starts while at Double-A. While the former second-round pick may not reach the majors this season, he has showcased elite potential and should be rostered in all keeper and dynasty leagues going forward.
