Brandon Sproat Stellar In First Professional Season
New York Mets starting pitching prospect Brandon Sproat has been incredible through the first half of his first professional season. The Florida product opened the season at High-A, where he logged 25 ⅓ innings to the tune of a 1.07 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and a 16:33 BB:K ratio. Then, since moving up to Double-A on May 13, the right-hander has posted a dominant 2.05 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and a 12:52 BB:K ratio. Sproat tallied a career-high 10 punchouts on June 2 and has posted five quality starts while at Double-A. While the former second-round pick may not reach the majors this season, he has showcased elite potential and should be rostered in all keeper and dynasty leagues going forward.
