Brandon Pfaadt Shines In Win Over Brewers
6 months agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt turned in one of his best outings of the year on Thursday, limiting the Milwaukee Brewers to one run over seven innings. Pfaadt struck out 12, walked none, and allowed just two hits. His dominance in this one came out of nowhere, as he had allowed at least three earned runs in his last six starts and was just destroyed by the Brewers last Saturday, where he allowed eight runs in just 1 ⅔ IP. If any fantasy managers did have them in their lineups for some reason, it turned out to be a great decision. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that many did. The 25-year-old lines up for one last start next week against the San Francisco Giants. Fantasy managers should be wary of this one good start, but consider Pfaadt as a high-risk option next week.

Brandon Pfaadt Secures Starting Rotation Spot
5 days agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt has won the final spot in the rotation. The right-hander has done a nice job this spring with a 3.18 ERA and 13/2 K/BB ratio across 11 innings of work. Pfaadt was a healthy and capable option for the D-Backs last season. He registered a 4.71 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 185/42 K/BB ratio across 32 starts in 2024. This means, Jordan Montgomery and Ryne Nelson will head to the bullpen to begin the season. Neither pitcher is expected to offer much fantasy value as long relief options.

Brandon Pfaadt Strikes Out Seven In Spring Training Start
2 weeks agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks' right-handed pitcher, Brandon Pfaadt, was sharp in his final spring training outing against the San Diego Padres. He threw five innings, allowed two hits, and struck out seven batters. Most of the Padres' top hitters played in yesterday's game, including Luis Arraez, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Manny Machado. Pfaadt's outing was an extremely encouraging sign as he enters the 2025 season looking to cement himself as a consistent pitcher in the MLB. During the 2024 season, Pfaadt had his ups and downs but finished with a 4.71 ERA and a 10.32 K/9. Pfaadt is currently slated to be in the Diamondbacks rotation as their No. four or five starter. Fantasy Managers looking for a young arm with some upside should target Pfaadt in their fantasy drafts. He has a strong strikeout percentage and doesn't walk many batters (87th percentile).

Brandon Pfaadt Racks Up 10 Strikeouts
7 months agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt made plenty of bats miss during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The right-hander recorded 10 strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings of work while allowing three runs in the blowout win. Pfaadt gave up eight hits during this outing, but he did a nice job of limiting the damage. It hasn't been a great year for Pfaadt, but he has been a nice source of strikeouts. He'll carry a 4.32 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and a 155/34 K/BB ratio into his next start against the Houston Astros. The high strikeout rate gives Pfaadt value despite it being a tough matchup.

Pfaadt allowed four runs on eight hits and did not walk a batter over seven innings, improving his record to 7-6. He has won four straight decisions and has not recorded a loss since a 3-1 setback at the Washington Nationals on June 19. Pfaadt has a 3.98 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP with 135 strikeouts and 29 walks over 144 2/3 innings.
