Brandon Nimmo Scratched Wednesday
5 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo was scratched from the Grapefruit League lineup on Wednesday because the team cardiologist suggested an additional cardiac screening, which was completed on Wednesday. This may just be a precaution and might not lead to anything, but stay tuned for more information on the situation. Nimmo hit .263/.404/.483 with 17 home runs, 47 RBI and nine stolen bases in 140 games with the Mets in 2018, but he played in just 69 games last year due to injuries. Hopefully he's in the clear to begin the season on Opening Day, but playing time could also be an issue between Yoenis Cespedes (if healthy), Jeff McNeil and J.D. Davis in the outfield. Nimmo is ranked just inside the top 100 fantasy outfielders at RotoBaller and will mainly be an NL-only asset to begin the season.
