Brandon Nimmo Scratched From Triple-A Lineup

New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (neck) was scratched from the lineup at Triple-A Syracuse on Friday due to neck soreness. It's not good news, as Nimmo is rehabbing from a bulging cervical disc and was getting closer to a return to the big leagues. Nimmo has been on the injured list since May 20 but has been feeling the effects of his neck injury ever since he crashed into an outfield wall in mid-April. His numbers have suffered as a result and he's batting just .200/.344/.323 on the year with three homers, 14 RBI and one steal. It's unclear how much longer Nimmo will remain out, but he belongs on waiver wires in mixed leagues for now.
