6 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo has had quite the eventful spring this year. After being sidelined earlier with a sore shoulder, he caught a stomach virus that further sidelined him. Now, however, on the cusp of the new season, the 25-year-old appears set to go. Taking on the Miami Marlins this past Thursday, he blasted two home runs from the leadoff spot, something manager Mickey Callaway implied was a sign that he was ready for the new year. Nimmo is likely to land a starting job to begin the year, despite the aforementioned obstacles that he's overcome.--RDelgado
