6 years agoChicago Cubs relief pitcher Brandon Morrow (biceps) will face a key point on Sunday. He will throw off a mound for the first time since July 18. How he feels after that session will determine so much about the path forward. The Cub and Morrow both are targeting September 15 or 16 as a possible return target. Since the minors are mostly wrapped up, Morrow will have to do his rehab game work with the Cubs, so having as much of that final two weeks of the regular season available as possible for outings is important. Morrow will not return to the closer role right away so he will need time and opportunities to build himself back up before the playoffs. In seasonal leagues, look for help on your league's waiver wire.--Jamie Mellor
