Brandon Belt Leaves Game With Knee Inflammation
6 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) left the game early on Friday with right knee inflammation. Belt will undergo an MRI exam, but manager Bruce Bochy said the team is hopeful that Belt will only miss a day or two. The left-handed slugger had two walks in four plate appearances on Friday night and is hitting just .223/.345/.455 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 145 plate appearances in 2019. Tyler Austin will likely start for however long Belt is out of the lineup. Belt has 34 strikeouts, but his 21 walks are saving his on-base percentage and keeping him relevant in deep mixed leagues.
