Brad Miller Activated, Drives In Run Friday Versus Minnesota
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays first baseman Brad Miller (groin) was activated in time for the game Friday versus Minnesota. He would then go 1-for-4 with a walk and drive in a run while batting in the cleanup spot of the order. The plan before Miller was injured was that C.J. Cron and Miller would split time. It has been noted previously that Miller could play some second base on certain occasions to get both of their bats in the lineup. He is most likely a deep league option that merely has the temptation of the specter of a return to his 30 home runs of 2016, but his early results in 2018 suggest he may have upside. Luckily, Cron had not run away with the first base job, even though it is quite possible that some of Miller's early starts will come at second.
