6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks reliever Brad Boxberger has been removed from the closer role. Manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that he would play matchups in the ninth inning moving forward. Lovullo seems to prefer to use a closer-by-committee approach rather than have a single closer emerge. Since the All-Star break, Boxberger has an ERA of 7.90 and has allowed six runs in four September appearances. Archie Bradley is the best reliever in the bullpen, and would be the player to add for save collectors.--Jonathan Chan - Rotoballer
