Boston Scott Could Have A More Consistent Role
3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott could have a more consistent role in the Eagles offense in the 2021 season. Scott has served as the backup to Miles Sanders for the last couple of seasons and has mostly played well in a small sample size, including a few starts when Sanders was injured. Most of Scott's production came with Sanders inactive though, as Sanders monopolized the backfield when healthy, especially after Jalen Hurts took over. Heading into this season, however Eagles running back coach Jamel Singleton has already stated his dislike for every-down running backs, instead stating that he prefers having multiple guys with defined roles in his backfields. It remains to be seen what will happen once games count, but for now, it looks like Scott could be taking on a legitimate third down back role on an offense that should be at worst decent. Scott is an intriguing low-cost option near the end of most drafts.
