Bobby Witt Jr. Reaches Once, Caught Stealing
1 year agoKansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-4 with a single and was caught stealing in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. There wasn't much offense to go around for the Royals as Cole Irvin and the rock-solid Orioles bullpen only allowed one run. Witt Jr. reached once with a single in the top of the sixth inning but was promptly caught stealing for the fifth time this year. Witt Jr. has picked it up at the plate over the last 15 contests, batting .279 with a .443 slugging percentage but his overall batting line still leaves a lot to be desired. For the season, the 22-year-old is slashing .235/.267/.412 with 10 home runs, 27 RBI, and 20 steals over 260 at-bats.
