Bobby Bradley Optioned, Zach Plesac Called Up
5 years agoThe Cleveland Indians demoted first base prospect Bobby Bradley to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday and called up starting pitcher Zach Plesac from Columbus in a corresponding move. Plesac got the start against the Tigers on Tuesday night. Bradley hit .292 (75-for-257) with 24 home runs and 55 RBI in the International League at Columbus before being called up to the big leagues, but he hit just .178 (8-for-45) with five doubles, a homer and four RBI in his first taste of the majors. He struck out 20 times and drew only four walks. Bradley's power should play in Cleveland eventually, but he should only be held onto in dynasty/keeper leagues the rest of the way. Plesac has a 4.00 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 33 K's in 45 innings over eight starts for the Tribe and was a fine streaming option in deeper leagues against Detroit in his first start back.
