Blue Jays Agree With Hyun-Jin Ryu
5 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays agreed to a four-year, $80 million deal with starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu on Sunday night, according to sources familiar with the deal. The Blue Jays have bolstered their rotation this offseason by signing Ryu, Tanner Roark and Chase Anderson. Ryu is the biggest prize of them all and should be the team's No. 1 starter after going 14-5 with a 2.32 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 163 strikeouts in 182 2/3 frames (29 starts) for the Dodgers in 2019. The Japanese left-hander is moving to a much tougher division and a very hitter-friendly park, though, so his floor will be lower for fantasy owners in 2020 and beyond.
