Blake Treinen Suffers Loss After Blown Save
6 years agoOakland Athletics closer Blake Treinen suffered his third blown save of the season in a 6-5 loss to the Astros. He completed just 1/3 of an inning with two runs allowed, one earned, with one walk and no strikeouts. Treinen certainly was not the cause just the tough-luck victim of a couple of random plays. The game-tying run was allowed when Jonathan Lucroy missed the tag and dropped the ball. The game-winning run was an odd play as Alex Bregman hit a dribbler, avoided the tag and had a Lucroy throw glance off his helmet into right field. This has no bearing on the caliber of Treinen; he remains a top closer.
