Blake Treinen Earns 20th Save Of Season Thursday
Oakland Athletics closer Blake Treinen picked up his 20th save of the season Thursday against the Tigers after sitting in Wednesday's save situation. Treinen pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing no hits and a walk with a strikeout. Bullpen-mate Lou Trivino got the save on Wednesday while Treinen received a routine day off but things were back to normal on Thursday, with Trivino pitching a scoreless eighth inning and Treinen taking the closing reins. Treinen has been outstanding this season, converting 20 of 22 save opportunities with a 0.91 ERA and a 10.89 K/9 rate. He has been a top fantasy reliever so far and owners should keep him in their lineups at all times.
