Blake Treinen Earns 20th Save Of Season Thursday
6 years agoOakland Athletics closer Blake Treinen picked up his 20th save of the season Thursday against the Tigers after sitting in Wednesday's save situation. Treinen pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing no hits and a walk with a strikeout. Bullpen-mate Lou Trivino got the save on Wednesday while Treinen received a routine day off but things were back to normal on Thursday, with Trivino pitching a scoreless eighth inning and Treinen taking the closing reins. Treinen has been outstanding this season, converting 20 of 22 save opportunities with a 0.91 ERA and a 10.89 K/9 rate. He has been a top fantasy reliever so far and owners should keep him in their lineups at all times.
