Blake Treinen Begins Rehab Assignment Tuesday
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Blake Treinen (shoulder), who has been out all year after having shoulder surgery last November, started a minor-league rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Tuesday. Treinen pitched a perfect inning on Tuesday with two strikeouts. The Dodgers probably aren't going to rush the 35-year-old right-hander back, but he should be an option for the Dodgers' bullpen at some point for the final month of the regular season in September. He could also become an option in holds leagues, depending on how the Dodgers deploy him when he returns to the big leagues. In his last full season in 2021, Treinen had a great 1.99 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, seven saves and 85 strikeouts in 72 1/3 relief innings.
