Blake Snell Struggles In Only Spring Start
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Blake Snell has made only one start so far this spring. It came last Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks and it was an ugly one. He pitched just 1 1/3 innings and allowed two hits, four walks and three runs (two earned) without recording a strikeout. Snell made 27 starts last year in his first season with the Padres. He went 7-6 with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. He averaged 11.9 K/9 throughout the year. He should be on the mound for one of the team's games in its four-game series against the Diamondbacks to start the year, but it's unclear which game he'll start at this point. All we know is that Yu Darvish is the team's Opening Day starter.
