Blake Perkins Reinstated From Injured List
3 months agoThe Milwaukee Brewers reinstated outfielder Blake Perkins (calf) from the 10-day injured list on Thursday and optioned infield prospect Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Perkins is back in the big leagues but will not start in Thursday's contest against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. Because the 27-year-old required only 10 days on the IL, he didn't go on a minor-league rehab assignment for his strained right calf. Perkins has a low fantasy ceiling while on the short side of an outfield platoon for the Brew Crew. The former second-round selection of the Washington Nationals in 2015 was hitting .257/.330/.363 with a .693 OPS, six home runs, 34 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 90 games at the time of his injury in just his second year in the big leagues. Most of Perkins' fantasy appeal in deeper leagues comes from his speed.
