Blake Bortles Finally Pain-Free
6 years agoJacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles (wrist) said he is finally pain-free for the first time since 2016. As a result, he's had the best offseason and training camp so far of his career. Bortles had three cortisone injections last year but played through the injury into the playoffs. He underwent surgery on Jan. 26 to fix a partially torn ligament on the outside of his wrist and to relieve inflammation on the top of his wrist. "It kind of became normal," Bortles said. "It just hurt all the time. That becomes the new normal, and it is not that big of a deal. It is definitely a relief to be able to throw a ball, and there is no pain at all." The balls is leaving Bortles' hand much cleaner now, and he's also been more accurate in camp. Bortles cut down big time on his turnovers last year, but he still remains more of a QB2 in a run-first offense.
