Blaine Gabbert Suffers Head Injury Against Jaguars
6 years agoTennessee Titans quarterback Blaine Gabbert (head) left the game early in Week 3 against the Jaguars and is being evaluated for a concussion. Gabbert was injured on the second drive of the game. Marcus Mariota (elbow) was forced into the game and was wearing a glove on his right hand. Gabbert went 13-for-20 for 117 yards and a touchdown as the starter last week but was 1-for-3 for only eight yards before departing. Hopefully Mariota is able to make throws against a strong Jaguars defense in a relief role.

Blaine Gabbert Could Be Pushed For Backup Job
2 years agoThe expectation is that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Blaine Gabbert will be the backup to Patrick Mahomes in 2023, but Gabbert could be pushed by Shane Buechele, the 25-year-old who is in his third year with the Chiefs. Buechele is expected to be active on game days because of a new league rule that an emergency QB won't count against the active roster limit. Gabbert and Buechele could split the backup repetitions in training camp. Buechele has improved as a passer, but a strong training camp by Gabbert should hold Buechele off. "He's made a lot of progress, and I think this offseason will be big for him," head coach Andy Reid said of Buechele in March. "The preseason games will be important for him, the more he plays."

Blaine Gabbert To Sign With Chiefs
2 years agoFormer Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Blaine Gabbert is expected to sign a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs to back up the reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes. Gabbert was the 10th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft but lasted just three seasons with Jacksonville before taking on a backup role in San Francisco. The 33-year-old has 9,302 passing yards, 51 passing touchdowns, and 47 interceptions in 67 games played in his career thus far. Longtime Chiefs' backup Chad Henne retired this offseason, so it looks like Gabbert is the new QB2 in Kansas City. He's worth drafting in ultra-deep superflex leagues, but will have no fantasy value in traditional leagues.

Blaine Gabbert Stops In Vegas For A Visit
2 years agoAccording to ESPN's Field Yates, free-agent quarterback Blaine Gabbert stopped in Vegas on Saturday for a visit with the Raiders. The 33-year-old has bounced around the league since being taken with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. However, he spent the last three seasons in Tampa Bay, where he primarily served as Tom Brady's backup. Gabbert has totaled 9,302 yards, 51 touchdowns, and 47 interceptions off an atrocious 56.4% passing during his career. But the Raiders need an experienced signal-caller behind Jimmy Garoppolo, so Gabbert may be the man for the job. That said, even if he signs with Vegas and takes over under center at some point in 2023-24, his fantasy ceiling is extremely low.

Blaine Gabbert Relieves Tom Brady Sunday
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has been pulled from Sunday's Week 18 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Brady finished 13-for-17 with 84 yards and one touchdown, breaking the NFL's single-season completion record (previously set by Brady himself in 2021). Brady's departure comes as no surprise considering the Buccaneers have secured the NFC's No. 4 seed and planned all along to pull some of their starters midway through this week's game. Veteran quarterback Blaine Gabbert will take over, though there's a chance that Kyle Trask could also see some snaps later on.
