Blade Tidwell Struggling At Triple-A
4 months agoNew York Mets starting pitching prospect Blade Tidwell has struggled through his first brief taste of Triple-A ball. The former second-round draft pick was promoted to Triple-A Syracuse on May 21 after logging two strong stints at Double-A over the past two seasons. Through his first 35 ⅓ frames at the top level of the minors, the Tennessee product has held a disappointing 5.35 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and a 27:25 BB:K ratio. Tidwell logged his best start on May 29 as he tossed six shutout frames but has allowed at least three earned runs in every start since then. The right-hander is considered the 11th-best prospect in the Mets system on MLB.com and could contented for a late-season major league debut if he can work out these early struggles.
