Billy Horschel Flying Under The Radar In Palm Springs
10 months ago2023 was far from the most glamorous year of Billy Horschel's career, as the 2014 FedEx Cup Champion saw his world ranking plummet over 50 spots in a 15-month stretch. As ugly as it was for much of the year, however, Horschel did give his backers some reason for optimism heading into 2024. In six starts across four different countries from July to October, Horschel recorded four finishes of 20th or better -- including a 4th place finish at last summer's Wyndham Championship. An 18th-place result at last week's Sony Open should only further boost the Floridian's spirits, especially as we travel to a venue with a very similar ethos to Waialae or Sedgefield. Horschel hasn't made a start here in Palm Springs since 2020, but the bermudagrass greens and positional, wedge-intensive nature of PGA West should suit his game to a tee. We like him to return value relative to his $7,700 price on DraftKings.
