6 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Billy Hamilton was carted off the field on Thursday after he slammed into the outfield wall trying to make a catch. The 28-year-old speedster hadn't even had a plate appearance before suffering the injury after entering the game as a defensive replacement in the ninth inning. Stay tuned for more updates on Hamilton's condition and the specific nature of his injury, but his fantasy owners should start preparing for the worst. Hamilton was hitting just .237 with five runs scored, one RBI and two stolen bases on the season. He's never been much to look at with the bat, but his elite speed makes him worth rostering in all formats.
