Bills May Split Defensive Play-Calling Duties
6 years agoBuffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott took over the defensive play calls in the second half of the Week 2 loss to the Chargers, but wouldn't say if the move would be permanent. McDermott said he and defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier are "still working through that." Buffalo allowed only 65 total yards (three rushing yards) and three points in the second half, but the game was well over by then and the Chargers took their foot off the gas pedal. “I had a pretty good feel for what they were trying to do offensively, I wanted to come out and take the series and see how it went. I was able to get in a flow, and Leslie was helping me the whole time. Like I said before, whatever direction we go, we're going to work on it together. I have a lot of confidence in Leslie Frazier in terms of being a good defensive football coach," McDermott said. Whatever decision Buffalo makes, the Bills defense/special teams should not be owned in fantasy, especially with the Vikings on tap in Week 3.
