Daniel Descalso will start at second base and hit leadoff against Diamondbacks starting pitcher Merrill Kelly. Kris Bryant is in right field and is hitting second, while David Bote is at third base and batting seventh. Descalso has mostly been a utility infielder in his career, but he is seeing regular playing time to begin the 2019 season with Chicago and has benefited by hitting .364/.429/.523 with a homer and nine RBI.
