Bears Restructure Nick Foles' Contract
5 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Nick Foles has restructured his contract heading into the 2020 season. He's under contract with Chicago for three years and $24 million, with $21 million fully guaranteed. Foles will make $8 million in 2020 and can make another $6 million in incentives. The contract was modified to reduce the salary cap hit for the Bears, but he's still earning all of the money he was guaranteed from the Jaguars. The 31-year-old was a free-agent bust for the Jags, playing in just four games due to a broken collarbone, but he was also benched late in the year for Gardner Minshew. The Bears will have an open competition between Foles and Mitch Trubisky, but the former Super Bowl MVP is expected to be the guy given Trubisky's struggles the last couple years. Foles will be a midrange QB2 if he's under center for Chicago in Week 1.
