2 years agoAccording to Sports Illustrated senior NFL reporter Albert Breer, there isn't a "massive gap" between New England Patriots quarterbacks Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. Jones saw his numbers drop in his second year in the league, finishing with 2,997 passing yards and 14 touchdowns. The former Alabama signal-caller also had some disagreements with head coach Bill Belichick, which landed him in hot water during the season. Zappe showed signs of promise, throwing for 781 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions while completing nearly 71% of his throws. However, Zappe has a long way to go before he becomes a relevant fantasy option. Nevertheless, there is still plenty of time before the start of the 2023-24 campaign, so there could be more to this story moving ahead.
