Bailey Ober Settles For No-Decision In Debut
4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober didn't factor into the decision in his major league debut on Tuesday. Ober pitched four innings, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out four compared to one walk. The 25-year-old surrendered a pair of homers in the contest, including a solo shot to Jake Lamb in the first and a two-run blast to Yasmani Grandal in the third. Ober did show some of the strikeout potential he flashed in the minors, finishing off three of his four strikeouts via off-speed stuff. It seems like he was only a short-term option as a spot starter- with Michael Pineda (thigh) scratched from his scheduled outing- so it wouldn't be surprising to see him sent back down to Triple-A in the coming days.
