Auston Matthews Extends Point Streak To Six Games In Win
4 years agoToronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews picked up the game-winner Thursday night against Edmonton as he scored his fifth goal and ninth point of the season. Matthews now has points in each of his last six games and at least one point in seven of his eight games in the season. His goal came on the power play, giving him three power-play goals on the season, with assists from TJ Brodie and Alexander Kerfoot. Matthews had missed a game due to an upper-body injury last week but does not appear to have missed a beat in his return. Matthews is on a 50-goal pace for an 82 game season, and while the shortened season will stand in the way of him reaching that, he will remain one of the deadliest scorers in the league.
