4 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Austin Slater is getting the start at designated hitter and leading off in Thursday's game against the Seattle Mariners. This will be Slater's first start since September 6. The team has struggled to find playing time for him with a full outfield and the emergence of Wilmer Flores, who has served as the team's primary designated hitter lately. Slater's season-long numbers are great, as he's slashing .328/.426/.603 with four home runs, six RBI, 11 runs and seven stolen bases over 22 games.
